Students who wish to take Korean language and culture programs for more than 1 month must apply for either a General Student Visa(D-4) or a General Short-Term Visa(C-3-1).
- General Student Visa (D-4)
- Students who plan to learn Korean in university-affiliated language institutes must apply for a D-4 visa.

- Application location: Korean embassies or consulates in applicants' residential areas
- Required documents: passport, visa application form, fee, letter of admission, Proof of
graduation from the most recent school, financial statements(balance of more than USD 5,000), copy of household registration record and citizen card(relevant to Chinese applicants only)
- KCKLC act as a proxy in visa application for the applicants of Chinese nationality in China.
- General Short-Term Visa (C-3-1)
- A C-3 visa is a general short-term visa which allows the applicants to stay in Korean for 3 months. Therefore, applicants who don't have enough time to wait for the issuance of visa or prepare the documents can apply for the C-3-1 visa. If students continue their studies after entering Korea with a C-3-1 visa, they can apply for a D-4 visa by submitting required documents at the Immigration Office within 90 days. (The tourist visa, C-3-2, cannot be changed to a D-4 visa.)

- D-4 Visa Extension

- Required documents: passport and alien registration card, visa extension request form, fee(KRW 30,000), certificate of enrollment, certificate of attendance
* Visa extension is not possible if the attendance rate is below 80%.
